How to Join
Membership in South Bay Trainers is open only to approved animal professionals who use humane methods in their treatment of animals. This membership comes with a subscription to our Yahoo! Group, and if desired, a listing on our Trainers Directory. Our members enjoy paid speakers, engage in hands-on learning, and participate in local dog events and pet fairs where we promote positive training. Members are encouraged to attend monthly meetings and be involved in educating the public on humane training methods. Yearly dues are collected to support these activities.
You must be a graduate of either SF/SPCA Academy for Dog Trainers, Marin Humane Canine Behavior & Training Academy, Karen Pyror Academy or Animal Behavior College and show proof of your certificate. You can be sponsored into the group by a current SBT member in good standing. If you are either a shelter employee or other animal professional, you must provide proof of employment and schooling along with a reference. All new potential members must attend three meetings before membership is approved.
