Welcome to South Bay Trainers. We are a group of trainers and other animal professionals interested in the pursuit of humane and positive training. We use the principles of learning theory to manipulate and reinforce selected behaviors while using the least intrusive and minimally aversive techniques. The principle can be used on all kinds of species including us.

Our Mission

To provide our communities with alternative training methods to that of harsh, forceful, compulsive, painful and coercive techniques.

To support like-minded professionals in their continuing educational development in mechanical skills, clinical interviewing, clicker training, behavioral analysis, behavioral genetics and more.

To offer a safe-haven for positive and humane trainers and to form a supportive network.

Group Profile

SBT is a network of animal professionals committed to humane and positive methods. The group was founded in 2003 by Daphne Robert-Hamilton. We continually pursue ongoing educational opportunities to improve our skills and expand our knowledge. We are dedicated to providing our clients with the most current, scientific, animal-friendly and people-friendly techniques possible.

Some of our members are certified through the Certification Council of Pet Dog Trainers, some are members of the International Association of Animal Behavior Counselors, some are members of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, some are AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluators.

There are currently 60+ members of this group coming from all over northern California :Carmel, Santa Cruz, South County, San Jose, Saratoga, Hayward just to name a few  and Reno, NV.
